Job Summary

The Sales Specialist - Building Supply is responsible for developing new business within assigned Building Supply focus market segments according to the North American and International Sales and Marketing strategies. The position is also responsible for the achievement of corresponding sales and margin objectives within the assigned focus market Building Supply. The Sales Specialist is responsible for developing customer applications, gaining specification approvals, soliciting orders, achieving sales objectives, customer relations, and for contributing specialized knowledge to marketing planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed all established sales objectives and goals for assigned territory

  • Execute the business unit’s sales strategy through specialized working knowledge of tesa solutions

  • Provide technical assistance, service, and application advice for customers within defined markets

  • Develop and maintain excellent customer and distributor relationships in defined market

  • Report required field sales activity through company specified CRM system

  • Plan and organize effective use of time to meet the demands of the territory objectives

  • Effective presentation of our value proposition to the customer

  • Partner & collaborate with all company business units to find the best solutions for the customer

  • Maintain behavior, appearance, and standard of performance in line with the company’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to architectural engineering or equivalent experience

  • Technical aptitude and experience with structural glazing, sealants and bonding

  • Understanding of consultative selling to building supply market

  • Ability and willingness to adapt own work schedule to satisfy customer needs

  • Must be able to travel (air and auto), 50% of the time

  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license

  • Physically able to lift boxes up to 30 lbs. in weight

  • Proficient in use of computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite as well as ability to use Customer Relationship Management software programs

  • Bilingual Spanish is an advantage in specific territories
